Johnny’ Sirbu December 2, 1960 – November 24, 2012 Ionel “Johnny” Mircea Sirbu, 51, passed away at University Hospital in Indianapolis while waiting for a liver transplant. He lived in Cicero, IL after coming to the USA from Romania. He served in the US Navy after serving in the Romanian Navy out of Constant,a near the Black Sea as a Commissioned Officer. “He was an amazing boy with so much respect for me as a mother. I was so happy to have him. When he was in high school and university, he enjoyed his vacations home with me. He will be in my heart, mind, and soul forever. There will not be a moment without him in my thoughts. I love him and miss him so much.” -Anita Rus, Mother. He attended the “Mircea Cel Batri^n” university and the “Abbandru Ioan Cuza” high school. After serving in the US Navy, he was a manager and supervisor at the Renaissance Hospital in the Security Department for more than 15 years. Johnny was unhappily married, but his happiness was his son, Daniel Mierca Sirbu, 13, who survives him. He had limited time with his son after he was pushed to write a letter stating he did not want to see his father anymore. The heartache contributed to his death. He is also survived by his mother, Anita, 70, his Uncle Senti, 73, Aunt Neli, 62, and cousin Sergiu, 36. Funeral Arrangements will be at Sourek Funeral Home in Cicero. Burial will be in his hometown of Arad, Romania.
