Robert P. Sass

Robert P. Sass, life-long Chicago area resident, WW II Navy veteran, and former Director of Racconto Pasta, passed away at the age of 93 on March 7, 2014. Beloved husband of 22 years of Catherine Coscino Sass. Loving father of Roberta (late Norman) Paarlberg, Janet (Christopher) McDermott, Step father of Paul (Friend Donna Amsmeier) Coscino and Dr. Joseph (Andrea) Coscino. Dear grandfather of 10. Great grandfather of 10. Fond brother of Jane (late Philip) Motl and late Edwina (late Chester) Surdyk. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by Ann Milani Sass, his first wife of 49 years. Member of the American Legion Stickney Post 687. He was a consummate storyteller, a first-class salesman, and a role model for positive thinking, hard work, faith and family. Funeral services Thursday, March 13, at 9:30 a.m. from the Sourek & Sons Funeral Home, 5645 W. 35th Street, Cicero, to Our Lady of Charity Church for 10:00 a.m. Mass. Internment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, March 12th from 3 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Our Lady of Charity Catholic School, 3620 S. 57th Court, Cicero.
