Carmela S. Peckat On September 10th at the age of 72, after a courageous 9 year battle with cancer, Carmela passed away peacefully at her home in the company of family and friends. Carmela was the beloved wife of the late Walter “Wally” Peckat Jr; loving mother of Walter III “Tre” (Heidi) and Christopher (Amy) who were her life; grandmother of William Walter and Olivia Grace who brought her so much joy; dear sister of Ann (late Andy) Rasch and late Peter (Nancy) Spina; and fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was also loved by many wonderful friends who were remarkably kind and supportive to her as she endured her malady and to which her family will always be immeasurably appreciative. A memorial mass celebrating her life will be held Saturday, September 20th, 11:15 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Church, 5005 Wolf Rd. Western Springs.
