Catherine "Kay" Surin

Catherine “Kay” Surin passed away in her sleep on Sunday, September 20, 2015 in Mesa, Arizona. She was born on May 12, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Katerina Straka. Surviving are five children; Stephani, David (Cherie), John, Mark (Debbie), and Joe (Debbie); a sister, Violet; grandchildren, Pamela (John) Crow, Lynn (Brian) Lawrence, Jill (Mike) Smalley, Darla, Elizabeth, Peter, and Matthew; and great-grandchildren, Jarrett, Kendra, Keegan, Ryan, Jacob, Sarah, and Lauren. Preceding her in death are her husband Steve, a son, James, a brother, John, and a sister, Elizabeth. Catherine enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, crocheting, reading, and serving God in many Christian ministries. A gravesite service is  at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park, Illinois, and a memorial service at Gold Canyon Community Church in Gold Canyon, Arizona. Burial for Kay will be on Friday, October, 2nd At Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park, IL. Meet at Woodlawn Cemetery at 10:45 a.m. for a 11:00 a.m. graveside service. For information, call 708-652-6661.
