Eugenia “Jean” Konkolich passed away peacefully on Monday November 1st, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Jean was the devoted mother of Caroline (Daniel) Russo and fun-loving grandmother to Trisha, Vinny and Gina. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Konkolich, her brother Edward (Jean) Lewicki and her parents Michael and Carrie Lewicki. In addition to her family, she will be dearly missed by her precious cats, Mickey and Minnie. Jean worked for the Town of Cicero as a crossing guard for more than 36 years while assuming the role of both mother and father to raise her daughter. Jean enjoyed Dancing with the Stars, listening to Tom Jones and all varieties of music. She loved to joke around, take selfies and play games with her grandchildren, especially checkers. Jean was an avid animal lover who looked after the neighborhood stray cats along with the squirrels, birds, opossums, and skunks. She also was a collector of angel statuettes. Her kind heart and sassy attitude was appreciated and loved by so many. A visitation for Jean will be held on Sunday, November 7th from 3 to 8 p.m. at The Sourek Manor Funeral Home, 5645 W 35th St, Cicero. On Monday, November 8th, prayers will begin at the funeral home at 9:15 and process to St. Mary of Czestochowa Church for a 10:00 a.m. Mass. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Forest Park, IL.
