George James Riha, also known as Dr. Dolittle by his neighbors, passed away on May 15, 2020.
George was always willing to help out with anything you needed at the drop of a hat; it was
probably his second best quality. His first was how kind and caring he was, especially to
children and animals; his dog Shadow, more so her waistline, knew just how caring and giving
he was as he was always sharing his dinner with her. What dog in their right mind would refuse
a full Thanksgiving meal, with extra gravy?
He always enjoyed watching his great nephews and nieces play and tried to keep up with them
even when he was using a cane. However, keep up as he may these excursions always ended
the same way, with George being fast asleep on the couch. George was as quick to lend a hand
as he was with a joke, even if his favorite bit was a dated SNL copy guy skit. So if you fondly
remember him raise your glasses high and give a cheer for George, Georgie, The George-ster,
Georgio, G-orge, George-anator, George.
You are deeply missed by your sister, Debbie, your niece and her family, Raquel, Patrick, Jacob,
Alanna, and Caitlyn, and your nephew and his family, Brett, Ashley, Addison, and Theodore.
George will be cremated, and a memorial, will be held after Covid-19 settles to celebrate his life,
so everyone can raise a glass to Georgie, together one last time.
