Jeffrey J. Grodek

Jeffrey J. Grodek, age 60, of Chicago, Illinois, was called home to the Lord on March 1, 2026.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Christina (Zaragoza) Grodek, his father Chester T. Grodek, and his brother George M. Grodek.

He is lovingly remembered by his mother Elizabeth “Bea” Grodek; his brothers Chet (Betty) Grodek and Ray (Nada) Grodek; his sister‑in‑law Peggy Grodek; and her children Mike Grodek, Madeline (Matt) Nicolay, and Gwen Grodek.

Born on February 19, 1966, Jeff was raised in Chicago. He attended the University of Illinois Circle Campus. He began his career as an insurance broker and later moved into manufacturing roles, ultimately serving at Comer Industries in Loves Park, Illinois.

Jeff and Christina married later in life and cherished every moment together. They shared a deep love of travel, visiting numerous national parks and state capitals. With Christina’s encouragement, Jeff fulfilled his goal of visiting all 50 states—celebrating his final one, Hawaii, on their honeymoon.

Jeff was a loyal friend and a gentle, thoughtful man. Though often quiet, he had a remarkable gift for noticing the details that mattered most to the people around him.

He was also a man of sincere Catholic faith. Jeff was actively involved in St. Turibius Parish in Chicago and St. Mary of Czestochowa Church in Cicero. He was a dedicated member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, living out the Gospel through service to those in need.

Services

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, from 3:00–8:00 p.m. at Sourek Manor Funeral Home, 5645 W. 35th St., Cicero.

A second visitation will take place on Monday, March 9, at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, 3010 s. 48th Ct. Cicero, IL 60804.

Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois.
