John F. Trobl

John F. Trobl, 95, of Cicero passed away at home with family by his side on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. He was born in Chicago to John and Lillian (Soukup) Trobl who emigrated from Europe. John left to serve in World War II at a young age, participating in the D-Day Invasion and landing on the beach of Normandy. Upon his return home he married his wife Dorothy. They spent a wonderful 73 years of marriage together and had three children, six grandchildren and some grand dogs they loved greatly. You could always find John in a White Sox t-shirt cheering on his favorite team, even when they weren’t doing so great. He also loved watching the Chicago Blackhawks. When he was younger, John enjoyed playing baseball and horseshoes. He was a strong and inspiring family man, and his proud smile will never be forgotten by those who loved him. John F. Trobl is preceded in death by his parents John and Lillian (Soukup) Trobl, his brothers Robert Trobl, Richard Trobl, and his sisters Lorraine Wojciechowski, Lillian Dedic, and Evelyn Noffsinger. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, daughters Janice and her late husband Thomas Kasperski, Cindy and her husband JoeRilo, son John and his wife Antoinette Trobl, sister Dorothy and brother-in-law Robert Pluckebaum, and his grandchildren Jason, Ryan, Danielle, Jessica, Alyssa, and Marissa. A visitation for John will be on Monday, August 3rd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at The Sourek Manor Funeral Home, 5645 W. 35th. St., Cicero. A funeral service will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4th at the funeral home. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery, Oak Brook Terrace, IL.
