Jose G. Montemayor, age 75, of Laredo, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on December 16, 1949, in Laredo, Jose lived a life defined by hard work, deep devotion to family, and a generous heart.He is survived by his beloved wife, Lillian, with whom he shared many cherished years. He was a loving father to Patricia (Kenneth), Cynthia (late Tomas), and Jerry (Leticia); a proud grandfather to Cynthia, Sarah, Jennifer, Joseph, and Lillian; and a joyful great-grandfather to Landon and Hero.Jose was a devoted brother to Jesse (Sylvia), Mario, and Maria, and a caring uncle to Isaac, Johnny, Desiree (Michael), Angie, Kristina, Sandra, Lora, Bonnie, Cindy, Rene, Candy, Christopher, Jamie, Juan, Ceara, Michael, and JJ. He also shared a special bondwith his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Linda Flores, Dennis Baumgardner, and Sally Matthew.For 33 years, Jose worked with dedication at Cretors Popcorn, where his strong work ethic and reliability left a lasting impression. In his free time, he found joy in playing guitar, fixing cars, and working in his yard—always taking pride in the simple pleasures of life.He will be remembered most for his favorite parting words: “Call me when you get home, mija or mijo.” A phrase that so perfectly captured his constant care for those he loved.Jose G. Montemayor will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th, from 3:00–8:00 PM at Sourek

Manor Funeral Home, 5645 35th St, Cicero, IL 60804. A Mass service will follow on

Friday, June 13th, from 10:00–11:00 AM at St. Procopius Church, 1641 S Allport St,

Chicago, IL 60608.
