Jose M Silva age 91, went on to meet the Lord in peace on Monday, September 28th, 2020 surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on 4/8/1929 in Los Pinos, Zacatecas. José is survived by his siblings: (Juan, Martha, Nena and Anastacio). Children: (Herminia Aldrete, Guadalupe Dominguez, Jose F Silva, Enrique Silva, Gerardo F Silva, Jaime A Silva and Francisco J Silva) Grandchildren: (Monica Aldrete, Carlos Aldrete, Alejandro Aldrete, Alonzo Aldrete, Guadalupe Aldrete, Juan Dominguez, Vanessa Dominguez, Brenda Dominguez, Brenda Silva, Cynthia Silva, Jose F Silva, Enrique Silva, Salvador Silva, Cristian Silva, Gabriel Silva, Anthony Silva, Amanda Silva, Matthew Silva, 24 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.) Son-in-laws: (Alejandro Aldrete, Guadalupe Dominguez) Daughter-in- law’s: (Irene Silva, Martha Silva, Sue Silva, Iliana Silva and Melissa Silva) along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother (Herminia Martinez) father (Anastacio Silva-Molina) wife (Guadalupe Flores de Silva, siblings: (Francisco, Ramon, Jesus and Lupe) Jose Worked as a butcher/taxi driver, wrestler/body builder /tour guide until settling at Magnetrol Inc. for 20 years as a skilled spray painter. He was a devoted family man; Loved and honored his wife so much that he found many little ways of showing affection such as frequently bringing her carnations. His favorite pastimes were listening to Chelo Silva, Carlos Vives, Trio Los Panchos, José Alfredo Jiménez along with drinking his tequila and dancing. He loved watching the Chicago Cubs, competing in sports, collecting antique spoons/garage saling and partaking in climbing contests at places such as the John Hancock Building whenever he could; always a busy body, working out at the crack of dawn, running to the grocery store and making chicharrones on the weekends. He welcomed everyone in as family, praised God in all circumstances and prayed faithfully for his loved ones. José had a childlike spirit which was portrayed in all the little things he did like crawling under a table with his grandkids when a storm came to comfort them, participating in all the games/relay races at family picnics, bringing them a bag full of coffee creamer or favorite dessert to appease them; Taught them to use limes as deodorant. Jose was a Hard worker, dependable, athlete, explorer, traveler, bowling champion, weightlifter, body builder, mechanic and life of any party. He will be deeply missed by many and his legacy of living life to its fullest with unshakeable faith will remain in our hearts forever.
