On September 24th, 2019, Maria De La Luz Godinez Huerta, loving wife and mother passed away at the age of 58. Luz was born on April 13th, 1961 in Tototlán, Mexico to her preceding parents: Jesus Godinez Trujillo and Graciela Gonzalez. Luz worked hard; she was a devoted mother and homemaker her whole life. Those who came to know her loved her rambunctious laugh, great cooking, and warm and generous demeanor. She loved to take walks, scratch lottery tickets, chat with loved ones on the phone, knit, and take care of those around her. She was an advisor, rock to lean on, and hand to hold to many. Luz loved her children who she is survived by: Ariana, Miguel, Maritza, and Rodrigo. Luz is also survived by her husband Miguel Huerta Sr. Her 8 siblings also survive Luz: Gustavo, Gonzalo, Alicia, Lilia, Irene, Elva, Selena, and Elida. Maria will be missed dearly by those she loved and those who loved her with equal magnitude. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 27th, 2019, at Sourek Funeral Home, 5645 W. 35th St, Cicero, from 3pm-8pm. Flowers or donations may be sent to the funeral home. Funeral Mass, Saturday, September 29th at 9:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Rome Church. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL. For more information call 708-652-6661.
El 24 de septiembre de 2019, María De La Luz Godinez Huerta, amorosa esposa y madre falleció a la edad de 58 años. Luz nació el 13 de abril de 1961 en Tototlán, México, de sus padres anteriores: Jesús Godinez Trujillo y Graciela González. Luz trabajó duro; ella fue una madre devota y ama de casa toda su vida. Los que llegaron a conocerla amaron su risa grandiosa, su excelente cocina y su comportamiento cariñoso y generoso. Le encantaba caminar, rascar billetes de lotería, chatear con sus seres queridos por teléfono, tejer y cuidar a los que la rodeaban. Era una consultora, una roca para apoyarse y una mano para sostener a muchos. Luz amaba a sus hijos, a quienes le sobreviven: Ariana, Miguel, Maritza y Rodrigo. A Luz también le sobreviven su esposo Miguel Huerta Sr. y sus 8 hermanos: Gustavo, Gonzalo, Alicia, Lilia, Irene, Elva, Selena y Elida. María será extrañada por aquellos que amaba y aquellos que la amaban con la misma magnitud. El viernes 27 de septiembre de 2019 se llevará acabo el velorio en Sourek Funeral Home de 3 p.m. a 8 p.m. y una misa funebre el dia Sabado, 28 de Septiembre, en la Iglesia St. Francis of Rome a las 9:00 AM Se pueden enviar flores o donaciones a la funeraria.
