Marilyn was a young, single mother who rose above statistical odds during an era where women were expected to marry before having children. In 1979, she continued to defeat the odds when she joined the male-dominated transportation industry as a bus driver for the Chicago Transit Authority. Marilyn was blessed to be able to retire at the young age of 55 when she turned her attention to rescuing stray dogs. It is with that loving spirit where she enjoyed long walks with the dogs and time with her husband, Macario. She also had an active interest in crocheting, painting ceramics, participated and won several car shows, making jewelry, and Christmas trees.
Marilyn leaves behind a husband, daughter, 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and five dogs.
Marilyn Joanne Aguilar passed away on August 4, 2024, at the age of 72. Private services.
