Patricia Ann (Stachura) Terracino, 77, died July 1 following a short illness. A lifelong Cicero resident, she was married for 55 years to James (Jim) Terracino. Pat's greatest joy was her family, especially her husband; children Jill (Steve) Holtz and Jimmy Terracino; grandchildren Jackson, Dylan, and Maxwell Holtz; sisters Christine (Dr. Jeffrey) Socher and Marcia (Dr. Richard Kraig); nieces Jenna Kraig and Marisa Kraig (Jisoo Kim) and great-niece Evelyn Fenner. After graduating fromJosephinum High School in Chicago, Pat worked in childcare at St. Vincent Orphanage in Chicago and at Alden in Chicago. After having her children, she volunteered as a girl and boy scout leader and PTA member at Drexel School. She was preschool director for the Clyde Park District in Cicero and later, she worked at the Cicero Public Library, eventually becoming Library Director before her retirement. One of her proudest accomplishments was working on plans for the new Library building. An avid reader, Pat was a member of several book clubs. She and Jim traveled the world, visiting England, Italy, France, Russia, Sweden, Mexico, and Australia to name a few. She also loved spending time in Florida, vacationing annually with her sister Marcia and good friends for more than 20 years. She and Jim also enjoyed several cruises with friends and family and took their children and grandchildren to Walt Disney World multiple times. Pat loved to entertain and was an amazing cook, baker, gardener, and home decorator. She also loved to shop and dress stylishly and had an extensive wardrobe, especially shoes. Pat was known for her gift of gab - she would know your life story upon 10 minutes of meeting you. She celebrated the small moments as well as the big ones. Most memorably, she was fiercely loving, loyal, kind, and generous. She was adored by everyone who met her and was a ray of sunshine to all.
